Default First buyer whio needs help

I am looking at buying my first ATV. I live in Northern WI and have plenty of trails at my disposal. I would be looking to do some trail riding with the wheeler along with hunting, icefishing and some minor work(food plots, tree dragging, plowing). I was wondering what size you would reccommend and what model? I am torn between the 500cc size and the 700cc size. The models I'm looking at are the Suzuki 500 and 700, the Honda 420 and the Yamaha grizz 700 and 450. Are the bigger models a pain to maneuver in tight areas?? How does the insurance on a big machine compare to the insurance on a 500cc machine? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well out of the atvs you listed i would say get the grizz 700, it has a good deal of power and is the only atv with power steering. But hondas are extremely reliable. So it really depends on what you want great features or reliability. Thats all i can really tell you, im sure someone else will help more.

One more thing I forgot to mention, my wife loves to go trailriding and she would be driving it quite a bit. I also forgot to mention that the Kawi brute Force is also on my list, both the 700 and 750. Aren't Yammis as reliable as Honda's?

yes yamaha is very reliable but honda is known for being bulletproof, and if your wife is riding i might suggest not going with a 700 maybe a 450 or 500 unless you think she can handle a bigger quad

I bet your wife would probably love the feel of power steering! I know mine would.

normaly a 500 will do every thing a 700 or 800 can do but use less fuel doing it.i've rode a suz 700 kingquad not a bad quad steers easy, nice power not alot of storage though.but most 500 quad use the same frame as the big bores do. a bigger quad can be a hand full in tight places but once you get used to it it's not bad. good hunting and let us know what u get

500 are cheaper, easier on gas, cheaper to insure, and go any where a bigger engine will go.
If your wife is petite a smaller frame atv may be better for her.

ps no mention of the best atvs?, Polaris/CanAm/Artic Cat!

All of the Jap brands are rated higher than the American brands in the reviews. Check it out.
