Which 450?
I'm planning on getting a 450 in April. I'm a Yamaha guy, but I've found a nice honda too. Please don't recommend anything else, because I've narrowed it down to these two, plus they're the best I can find for the money I have to spend on them. I ride mostly tracks, but occasionally I'll ride trails with my buddies. Which is the better deal, I'm leaning towards the YFZ because I favor Yamahas, but I've heard that old YFZ's (04-06) have problems with their oiling design. They use different than the new ones that have an oil jet. I don't wanna spend my money on something that's gonna screw up within the first few months that I have it. So help me out here!! Please!
Either a 05 YFZ for $3,550 with:
-Nerf Bars
-LTE Dual Exhaust
Or a 05 TRX450R for $3,250 with:
-White Brothers Exhaust
-Jetted Carb

the 450r seems like a good deal. they are super reliable and do better than the yfz450 on the trails. the yfz will be better at freestyle jumping. as far as the yfz oil problem im pretty sure it can be fixed easly but not positive on that might wan tto get someone who owns a yfz on that one

Which 450?
I just don't wanna have to dump a couple hundred in a YFZ a month after I get it, after I've read and heard that it has problems. As far as the 450r doing better in trails, I've been riding an old beartracker and a 98 KDX, so it doesn't make much sense to me. What exactly is it about the quad that does better in trails? And what can go wrong with a YFZ in the trails?

The Yamaha is a higher revving motor with not alot of torque. The Honda has much better torque than the yamaha which is better on trails. Both nice imo. Both look like good deals to. I thing I would go with the yfz though. But the honda is a little less high maintenance I think
