MSO OR TITLE?
#1
i recently bought a 05 yamaha blaster from a private seller in New Jersey. He gave me the MSO but, it was filled out by the dealer being signed over to him when it was new and doesnt have a spot to be signed to me. Is just having the MSO enough proof for me to register it in News Jersey even though its not in my name? Thanks for you help!

Well, I don't know about New Jersey, but in MO you would not be able to title it until the original owner processed the MSO into his name and got a title. He would then sign the title over to you and you would then apply for a title in your name. Oh, and since it was a 2005 there would be a title penalty that would have to be paid.

I would suggest you go on-line and research on the DMV site before you go to the DMV. I went in after buying a used quad from another state, I live in NY and the paperwork is different and the clerk told me there was "NO WAY" for them to do anything and she couldn't help.
After a bit of research on their own DVM site, I found the correct paperwork, (Statement of ownership for non-titled vehicles) yes there is actually such a document, went to a different DVM and they registered it and took my money no problem.
Best of luck!
