Looking at these two and trying to decide. Both look really good to me and each has it's strong and weak points. Do I just flip a coin? I can get either for about the same price. Also when can we get a look at 09 Polaris lineup. AC lineup is already online with almost all of them being EFI machines.

I believe the 2009 Polaris' will be introduced somewhere around the end of July, 23-28? I think.

That's a tough one. I really do like my popos, but AC is a nice ride too. Do you have local dealers for both?

Yes, local dealers for both but the local Po dealer is high priced. To get the Po as cheap as the AC I'd have to go out of town. That's one of the weak points I mentioned. I can also get the AC 650 H1 very reasonably priced at the local dealer but it's not EFI. Is EFI really worth ruling out the 650 H1?

That depends on how much money we are talking about....efi or no efi. I'm new to efi and I really like it. No choke, easy starting especially in winter, no hesitation especially when climbing hills, and most of all no jetting for altitude. I haven't found the bad yet, but I'm sure someone else can chime in and help us out. I think the most important would be the altitude difference. If you ride at sea level and higher mt elevations, then you would probly be better off with efi. If not, then maybe you could live with the H1....

As for the dealers, going out of town is fine, atleast you have a local dealer to get parts from and perform warranty work. That's what I was getting at. Some people on this forum actually have to travel hundreds of miles for this and that would definitely weigh heavily in my decision as to which brand.

Hope this helps a bit. BTW, can you test drive both of them?

They are both close, the AC weighing 680 and the Polaris 770, the polaris has more HP but consider the weight offset. Customer service go's along ways in my Book so if the AC dealer is offering a good price and they seem Friendly i would choose the AC. talk with the Polaris dealer and if they seem stubborn and arrogant they should loose the sale.

Rode the AC 700EFI SE today. This thing ROCKS! Wow what a ride, smooth as silk and fast as I cared to go. It cornered like a dream and steered like it had power steering. I think I'm in love. I haven't ridden the PO 800 (no one local has one) but can't imagine it being any better than this AC. Deciding between the two I'm down to the little things like the 2 inch receiver hitch vs the 1.25 one and maybe seat comfort, dual exhausts vs single but I can't look at the PO except in pictures. I think AC just might have converted me from a PO man. What a ride! By the way, the local dealer said he'd put a winch on it if I bought from him.

If you think the Ac is smooth, then wait until you ride the 800.

It's like comparing a Buick to a cadillac

The sportsman 800 has much better power and acceleration, tows and hauls more

Hell, if you like it and get a free winch then go for it.

if it is your first big utility quad, you do not know what you would like different till you get one and ride it for awhile anyways.

I just rode a new 700H1, the steering is easier than the Polaris but it pushes thru the turns. The ride is very good but not quite as soft as the Polaris. Weight is lighter because it has less steel on it. Plastic skid instead of steel, and tube frame vs box frame. THe AC I rode made a lot of noise on accel and decel. Whinning trans?
