Any feedback on these 800cc machines
#1
Doing research for my future purchase of a 2 person buggy. I think I've narrowed it down to a Joyner 650 possibly , but am worried about power. It will be used in mostly sandy trails (northern Michigan)
I ran across these :
http://www.roketa.com/product/259/0/2557.shtml
And they look great , are priced reasonable and with the 800cc motor hopefully have decent power. I just can't seem to find any decent feedback on them.

you may not be able to ride them on some trails because some of them are restricted to orv's 50" or less in width.
as far as power or reliability i cant help you there but if you are worried about it lacking enough power you could always jump up to there 1000 or 1100 cc machines. that are almost double the power of the 800 models.

Welcome to the forum. I never heard of Joyner before but their website says they've been around for 5 years. I have heard of Roketa but never saw any of their stuff anywhere. Not on the trails or in stores. I'm always wary of buying anything when they have trouble spelling in English like they do. But at least both of those brands have spare parts available here, so you don't have to wait for them to ship from China where they make all these.
As Sidewinder pointed out, some trails, like 99% of them in Michigan, are restricted to 50" width. The ONLY side by side ORVs I know of that meet the requirment are a RZR and some golf carts.

In NH and VT none of the dealerships or small motor repairs have parts for roketa or anything from www.allnewpowersports.com

Like someone mentioned here the Roketa is very hard to find parts for, and with a price around $6k just doesn't seem worth the hassle.
Yes in MI some of the ATV trails are 50" but 90% of my riding is within a 20 or 30 mile radius of my cabin , if i keep it close to 60" wide I won't have a problem.
I also have considered the RZR but I won't pay the $10k+ price , I know you get what you pay for but this isn't my only hobby , I have to have somewhat of a budget.
I've narrowed my search down to these 4 buggies. I plan on making a purchase in the spring of 09 so I have some time to do more research on these.
Awesome buggy phoneix 300
Joyner 250 sand spyder
Carter GTR 300
Hammerhead tiburon 400
they all have pros and cons but it's going to have to be a compromise between cost, speed , weight, width and whether or not is has a manual or auto trans, since the girlfriend (who will be driving it 75% of the time) doesn't know how to drive a manual.
