i currently have a 02 250ex, it was bought brand new in 01 when i was 12 iam now 20 and recently have got back into riding. It has a k@n, pc t-4 slip on, and dyno jet jet kit. But since iam now 20 i deff want somthing bigger, and better, so my ? is should i try to find a used 400ex? I have the money for one around 2500$ maybe alittle more, but is there a big diffrence in performance between my 250 with its bolt ons and a stock 400ex as far as power, handling, ride? I have rode one before but its been forever and i cant rember, the last thing i rode was a yfz450 and it was like going to a rocket from my 250 would it be like that to the 400? i just dont want to spend the money on somthing else if its gonna feel the same as my 250, i know its my choice but i would just like opinions. Also i ride tight trails that 90% of the time my 250 has no problem getting through hows the 400 with tight trails? thanks

 

the 400 is an awesome quad for trail riding and you should easily be able to find one for 2500. the 400 would def be an upgrade over a 250 ex even if you did mod it. you wont be beating any 450 with one but you will def see a difference between it and your 250. i think you would be happy with the 400.

 

Night and day difference! The 400EX along with its little brother the 300EX, are the best trail quads of all time!
