Default Comparing Used ATVs

Is there any place where one can compare past models with the more currant ones? I'm looking at possibly buying used, but all the information I can find is for the currant year.

Specifically, I'm looking into a used Polaris. Probably a 500 but the used market being what it is I might see something else. Now, I'm comparing an '03, '05, '07 to the new '08.

I've seen a few used Hondas and they don't seem to change too much. Are other makes different?

I do realize there is a risk when buying used and a real decision is going to settle on condition and value. I just want to get a feel of what features I can expect throughout the different years.

Thanks!

Probably the best place to get good info would be here. If you are looking at an older Polaris, go to the Polaris forum page and ask anyone who might have the model you're looking at. Good first-hand information there.

Polaris is the only brand I have first-hand experience with. If you get a Sportsman make sure it's an '01 or newer because the older ones are harder to steer. I think the same goes for the Magnums too. The 500 H.O. has about 15-20% more power than the non-H.O. 500. The EFIs have even more power than the H.O. carb models and get better gas mileage too. Plus they have 26" radial tires instead of 25" bias plys. A 2 year old one is about $2,100 cheaper than a new one. You can compare prices of various years at NADA. http://www.nadaguides.com/defa...5692&gc=MC&gtc=MC&ml=P
