Used Sport ATV Sales- Good or Bad?
#1
Lately I've been looking for a used sport ATV and it seems as though the ones I've been watching are not selling. I'm wondering if you guys are noticing the same thing in your area or if you have tried to sell one did it sell quickly or not? I realize if you look at ebay or craigslist for a specific model, that represents a small fraction of what is probably available thats why I am curious of your personal experience in your area. Thanks

This is from a buyer's perspective. In my area the ones that don't seem to sell are the ones from guys that are not negotiable on their prices. It seems that a lot of guys get the idea that their quad has been dipped in gold just by adding a pipe and filter. I had to look at ten different quads before I found someone that was realistic and willing to negotiate. On the other hand in my area if someone posts a decent quad at a reasonable price on craigslist it is usually snapped up pretty quickly.
I also think certain models may stagnate because people have upgraded to a new model, like the move from 400's to 450's.

i would rather get a used quad close to stock, ussually if you get one all built up then the previous owner dogged the s**t out of it. most of the quads that never sell are too high priced or the owner will not sell for a lower offer. the banshee i went and looked at the other week was for sale for 2k, it was a 99 model and it had cracked housing and needed swingarm bearings, grips, tires, and a seat cover. but because it was bored .30 over and had nerf bars he wanted more for it. i knew he didnt know what he was talking about when he said it needed a battery. i offered him a thousand bucks and he turned it down. i just got a lakota for $450 and it needs completly redone. but i can use the money i saved. some people dont know what their selling.
