Moose, you hit the nail on the head! Appropriate post!

The only complaint I have about my popos (besides the cost!) is that I can't seem to get them out enough!

Jim,

You said you have narrowed your search down to the gator or ranger. I live in a rural area where atv's are widely used on ranches, businesses, etc. and for work and play. We have nearly every dealership here locally or within 60 miles. What you will find most people riding is polaris. That says alot IMO. With that said, our local fairgrounds facility uses everything from the kubota diesel utv, rhino's, and rangers. They have used the gators for years, and still do. If you ask all of them which they prefer, they'll tell you the ranger hands down. However, it is not perfect in all situations, just most. I don't think there is any perfect machine. I have personally ridden the ranger and almost purchased one before the rhino, but I didn't like the golf cart feel and the lack of power. I did like the turf mode, much easier to make tight turns and doesn't tear up the ground and tires. But, that's my opinion and I wanted something more sporty and fast with more aftermarket parts available. It all depends what you are looking for, but I would definately choose the ranger over the gator.

Fanboy. lol I'm a fan of whatever works best for any particular application, and I haven't been a boy since Uncle Sam trained me kill back in the 70s.

All the people I know with a Gator, some Rangers, and a Rhino are happy with them. I haven't seen a Prowler anywhere yet but I know that will make someone happy too. One guy with a Ranger is so thrilled with his that his neighbor will probably trade in his Kubota out of jealousy. They all work for what these guys use them for. The guys with a Rhino would be just as well off with a golf cart since they putt along at 5 mph, but it has a nice stereo and lots of room in the back for cold beer.
