rancer vs. outlander

How does the rancher 400 4x4 compare to the can-am outlander 400 XT EFI?
The outlander is much more expensive, but I am wondering if it is worth the extra cost. I would not have to buy skid plates, a winch, and it has many more options I like. Plus the power is unbelievable. Are they expensive to work on?
What are your thoughts???

I have ridden my buddies Outlander 400, and it seemed unstable with a lot of body roll. They imagine that they are making it comfy, but what they are really doing is making it sloppy!
The Rancher is more sport quad than some mush box utility. What more do you need to know????

I decided to go with the Honda because the CanAm's price tag is way to high for me right now. Maybe if I decide to upgrade, or get a new bike some day I will get a CanAm. Thanks for the info.

Utility quads are all about stability in nasty terrain...and that is what the Rancher has in spades!!!
The North American manufacturers have all tried to turn utilities into long travel comfy cruiser couches that appeal to way out of shape beer-bellied rednecks, and all they have succeded in doing is turn them into unstable sloppy mush boxes.....
Going faster and leaving someone in the dust...that is what sport quads are for!!!

It's too bad you could not get the Can-Am. It would wax the Honda in every catagory.
