What do you think?

Hello,
I am planning on getting an ATV as soon as possible (Hopefully few days when i decide on something). I used to have a Yamaha 700 before but i sold it long time ago. My first choice was the Yamaha 700, then the 2009 Yamaha 450 (New rebuild).
Unfortunately the damned supplied/dealer here is out of 2009 and 2008 ATVs, and next shipment is coming in 3 months which is not even confirmed so i can't reserve anything I've been trying to find a used Yamaha (2008 or 2009 if available) for a month (honestly) and can't find any.
I will be using the ATV only for Sand Dune cruising and riding. So the ATV will be for SAND dunes and maybe close to the beach (Where there is sand as well lol).
After losing hope on getting a Yamaha i have been searching around for the right ATV. I looked at Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda and Can-Am. I looked at their specs but i can't really say how comfortable each ATV is
Can you guys please help me with a good choice? I need an ATV which is as strong and as comfortable as a Raptor 700R, that i will be using for Sand Dune riding with paddle tires and maybe some extra juice like headers.. I need something stable that doesn't roll over fast i get carried away sometimes lol
I really appreciate any input made by anyone..
Thanks!

Ummm.. I can recommended a Suzuki LT-R 450 to you! It's 50" wide, so it's plenty stable enough. I know people have run paddles on it without problems. It's definitely one of the most comfortable ATV's out there, it's seat has really thick foam padding in it.
Anyways, the Can-Am DS450 is also a machine, but I don't know how it would be as a dune machine.

I'm partial to the Honda. I widened mine by just getting rims that are wider and have a greater offset (ITP Baja), and some wide tires.
The HRC kit will make it scream on top, which is what you need in the sand.

I got the same suggestion of getting the DS450 somewhere else as well. Is the DS450 stable with no rolls? it seems higher than a raptor
Thanks Canadian144, appreciate your info

Hey OutCell,
The DS450 can be pretty stable. I'm not familiar whether or not the MX or XC version would be better for the dunes - I think the MX would. The MX is pretty stable, it is a higher bike, but it is also pretty wide. I think with the MX model, you get an adjustable rear axle, I think it's factory set to 50" aswell though. So yeah, it should be a pretty stable bike! I've read that the 2008's suffered from a low low end power, but the 09s were supposed to improve that, and so far I haven't seen any complaints about power in the 2009 DS450.

The Honda is the king of desert endurance racing. If you don't show up on a Honda (quad or dirt bike!), you probably won't finish the race, much less win. That's all I ever needed to know about the quality of this machine!!!

Get the honda it's the most duneable and durable 450 IMO.Before the new ktm sx atv's came out the honda was the second fastest 450 stock.Look at the gncc results for 2007,2008 don't remember which they were won aboard hondas.Plus it's the cheapest. In 09' it's expected to get fuel injection from the crf450r dirt bike which aparantly puts out 58 horsepower. But heres what I don't understand why is the quad motor detuned so much?

Have to wait and see ,Suzuki offer the first EFI 450 moto cross last year and it was last in the 450 shoot out. 08 450 shoot out.
Odd thing is the carb KX 450F Kawasaki was the strongest motor, yet that same motor with efi on there KFX 450R ATV sport is not.
