the foreman 500 is an exelent choice for a work quad, or a base for a mud mechine. they are a nice all around atv. alot of people will ask you of your looking for a sporty utility quad, if so the rancher 420 is a very good choice. the rancher 420 is water cooled fuel injected and is a sporty trailmechine that you can do plenty of work with. ether atv is a good choice
good luck with your new atv

The Foreman is a basic work quad. If you do mostly work and a little trail riding, then it is a good choice. Nice bulletproof, keep it simple manual transmission.
If you do mostly trail riding and a little work, then get a Rancher 420, or 420AT if you feel like you need IRS and/or an automatic. One of the magazines did a Foreman review, and they had a Rancher along at the same time. They said the Rancher was "more fun".
If you are a hunter, I think the Rancher would do everything you need to do.

Agree with the others...... I have a Rancher so Honda gets my full endorsement....but my buddy has a Foreman 500 and the thing is totally bulletproof too.... and he rides it hard and works it hard....cannot go wrong with the Foreman IMO.....
