hi my son is 7 and is not affraid of anything he has been riding with my husband on his banshee since birth. He wants to race the cra circut of western pa and ohio, we dont know anything about racing quads for youths and are pretty tight on money, as we all are. Does any one have any advice on what to buy or look for or know anyone selling one. willing to drive to pick up to kentucky ohio virginia new york any where 6 hours or less drive time from western pa. thanks in advance.

The most "race-ready" kids quad is the Can Am DS90X. The "X" is the race package.

look for one of those on eBay or craigslist.

for a 7 year old? i might be pushing it when i recomend the blaster. its a very race built bike but it might be too much. the dx90 is a good choice. you may wanna check the raptor 80 or 90. their pretty stout for their class. if you wanna go cheaper then i belive honda makes a 90trx. you should check into them.

 

Go to some races, and see what the common machines are (and see what's legal)! This will at least tell you what the competition will be.....

The Suzuki LT80 is no longer in production, but it is a hot little machine.

When he is a little older, move him up to the new Yamaha Raptor 250!

 

yes, but reconranger, none of those are real "racing" quads like the DS 90X.

To the OP, the DS 90X on ebay is still going for $1,400. Reserve is met. 19 hours left in the auction. You should be able to get it for under $2,000.
