Default New to ATV's

I have about $1500 saved up and wanted to know what i could buy with this kind of money. I want a kinda fast atv, around 65-80mph. I am 16 almost 17 and it can be new or used.... Just give some names so i can look them up.

Thank you

Honda 400EX. Not the fastest performance quad out there, but in your price range you can't afford to be picky.....seeing these are like $6,000+ new.

If you're looking for something a little quicker than a 400EX, you can look at a Suzuki Z-400, Kawasaki KFX 400, or a Arctic Cat DVX 400. They're very similar to a 400EX.

Although I think you'll have a fair amount of trouble finding one for $1500.

An ATV that's quite readily available and popular is the Warrior 350 from Yamaha. Its a 350cc four stroke, 6-Speed fully manual sport quad. Ton's of people have them so parts and knowledge are readily available. They might be more in your price range. They won't compare the the newer 400's, but they'd be a decent first quad nonetheless.

What kind of riding do you plan on doing and in what kind of terrain? Is reverse something you need?

Oh and FYI, 65-80mph is a VERY fast four wheeler, not a kinda fast four wheeler. And even though it may be tempting, don't buy a new $1500 no-name brand quad. You WILL regret it. Get a nice, used name brand quad. My 1986 Suzuki is still running like a champion!

+1 on what's been said... if you could find a Z400 or 400EX in your price range, that would be PERFECT. SO much better than a Warrior IMO. But the Warrior would still be a sweet first quad none the less.

PS... I don't think any quads will hit 80mph stock (maybe the Raptor 700?). Most 450s top out between 73-78 mph ish....

Default Thank you

I also need one that has reverse! I'll give a look into these and see what I can find. Is there any that are about 60mph that would cost around $1500? Also looking for a very durable, long lasting ATV. Thanks for the posts

All of the ones stated above should do 60. You'll find though that you almost will never use the top speed on these vehicles. So speed isn't everything.

I'm not sure as to the best year but for a decent seeming one in my area is around $1000-$1800 bucks.

Ask around or search the Yamaha thread to find out more on the Warrior.

Default 2002 Warrior 350

Where are you located? I have a 2002 Warrior 350 that I have decided to sell. I'm the second adult owner. I bought it from the original owner in 2004. It is bone stock (unmolested), has never been raced or abused. It still has the original tires with about 65% tread left. It runs great and needs nothing. Its quick and bulletproof. In in northeast Maryland. Its yours for $1600.

If you're interested, shoot me your e-mail and I'll send you a few pics. I can't seem to get them to upload here.
