Exclamation ASAP Reply: Need help asap on a Arctic Cat or Polaris Sportsman

Sorry these are private deal and I'm worried they will expire and I told them I need 24 hours to do research on them. Sorry for sounding rude or rushed I came here since you are the experts!

Here it is these are deals that will expire soon:

2006 Polaris Sportsman 450 ATV
95 miles on it (23 hours use)
Features Polaris installed winch, deluxe color keyed rear seat, rear footpegs, receiver hitch, front storage and backup light. Popular yellow coloured 450 Sportsman.

$7,000.00 (Canadian)
$5,934.72 (US)

2007 Arctic Cat 700 diesel ATV
4 Miles on it
This ATV has an arctic cat warn winch was installed by dealer and comes with the interchangeable speed rack and second seat. As new condition and a very well constructed ATV.

$6,300.00 (Canadian)

$5,341.25 (US)

I fell in love with the Cat and want the Cat but my Mother and Her friend thinks Polaris is better and also holds the value.

Besides you guys not being able to see them just say they are brand new condition lets even say brand new with these prices. What would you pick and could you tell me some reasons why and why not?

Also would the cat lose its value and become cheap vs the Polaris in 5 years?

If you want to go at a good clip down trails I'd get the Polaris. If it is mainly work with a little riding thrown in I would consider the AC diesel. Better torque and fuel mileage.

I have a 2007 Polaris 500 Sportsman. It is not the machine I thought it would be. It rattles when decelerating down hill and I have had trouble with the battery staying charged. The entire gear shift system is cheep if you ask me. I will not buy another Polaris. Your best bet is to look for a Honda or Yamaha. I have one of each and both are over 10 years old and they still purr. Polaris always have special price deals, so i bought and it was a mistake.

I think I will go with the Cat. yes I will use trails but Im not like a go down fast rider or even a zigzag rider. I love to go on long distance trips but Also plow snow in the winter.

I think that you made the right decision with the Artic Cat. There is one Cat in our hunting group and the owner swers by it. It is always running with no problems in the 5 years I have seen it.

Thanks for the comment it makes me feel better. I know I will be limited in speed its a tank not a speedster for example . Will I be hauling wood moving things with it? No I dubt it but I don't want to go fast anyways I like to take it easy and go long distances. I think this baby will work great and sound great.

Also I will use it to plow my driveway in the winter. Maybe friends too. With my experiences here in Barrie, Ontario I have gotten almost 2 feet of snow overnight like 4-5 times last winter. So a heavy machine plowing out of the garage will be wicked!

Another bonus to the plowing is I live in a court.. Not only they hardly ever plow us out within 24 hours of a snowfall I can push the snow into the middle of the court! Making even much more valuable having a tank

I'm excited the Cat is considered 100% brand new was ride around the guys backyard. He is also giving me the works like helmets diesel containers and such and this was after he sold it to me. He is moving and does not want the junk around.

So I'm one happy boy.. Wait today I become a MAN! :P

Great....I use my Honda 350 to plow snow here in Chicago...It does a pretty good job....The only problem with it is that the plow is not heavy enough to get right down to the concrete, so there is always a thin layer of snow left. Be sure that you get an electric plow lift of some sort. You will go crazy with a manual one. If the Cat has an electric wench, that is good. A nice plow can run about $500US. You will have to mount a mounting plate on the bottom of the Cat frame. That plate can be purchased with the plow. They cost about $75US if purchased seperately. Good luck...Fred Z

Let us know how you like it Kane. I know alot of the guys on this forum swear by Polaris and Arctic Cat machines. They are heavy which is a big plus when plowing. I'd be interested to hear your likes/dislikes with this machine. If I had the money for a strictly work related machine I'd consider the diesel or the Polaris Big Boss 6x6 800. Both are the tops in work related machines in my mind.

Go with the Cat. Polaris is junk. The only people that think different are the ones that are stuck with one.
