One of the reasons I got rid of the Honda (07 Rubicon) I owned for a whole three months was the uncomfortable and tank-like ride. It sounds like he'd like a sportier machine with the possibilities of a softer ride. The downsize to Honda is that the shocks aren't adjustable. (BTW recon, I am an experienced rider-lol)
The old Wolverine was a great machine ( I had one) but carry extra light bulbs. They blow out frequently. Fun to ride but useless in the dark without headlights.
I can honestly say that center of gravity has never been an issue anytime I have ever ridden.

I ride with a 500 Scrambler and it will do 60 mph, never rode with a 350 Wolverine but I would bet its alot faster than a Four trax 300 for sure.
