depends where you are riding as well. if you are out in california or arizona, somewhere hot, a 2wd quad is awesome. if you live in wisconsin or pennsylania where it snows 12 feet a year, a 2wd light weight quad isnt even gonna get out of the driveway and on the trailor (in winter).

 

Just get a Rancher 420 4x4. You'll be happy for many, many years to come.

Did you have a chance to check out the trail around the lake? If there are no appreciable mudholes and the terrain is not steep and rocky you should go with a sport quad. If there is mud holes and steep rocky terrain go with a utility.
