First off, how big of a budget do you have? Are you going to buy new or used? What do the local dealers sell? Are the dealers trustworthy? How much engine power would you like? Do you want an automatic transmission or a manual transmission? Judging by your username, you'll probably want a fast sporty machine. How big are the jumps you'll most likley be doing? It sounds like you'd be doing some mud riding and some work. How much work? Do you mind doing a lot of preventive maitenience? What is the ground like that you'll be riding on the most? Is it sandy, hardpack, dirt, mud like? After you answer these questions I'll recommend a machine, and I'm sure others will too.

Sounds like your in the market for a yamaha wolverine 4x4, it's a "sport 4x4" like the scrambler series by polaris, only it has a semi auto transmission.

I must say I agree on the Yamaha Wolverine. It's midsized, manual shift, sporty like setup, and shaft driven, 4X4, and I'm pretty sure it has racks on it.
