Default What should i buy kfx or yfz

Hey guys I'm new to the site but I was wondering if I could get some advice. Im looking to buy a kfx 400 or a yfz 450. I can find them for about the same price on craigslist. The kfx 450 is to expensive because my range is no higher than 2500. I do mostly trail rides and go to the dunes and badlands when i get the chance. Im 5'9 150 lbs. My buddies ride kfx 400, kfx 450 and a kfx 700. If i could get some advice that would be great.

In general at that price range, the Kawie should be a little nicer machine, it has reverse, and is a great trail/fun bike. Plus your buddies seem to have a lot of Kawies, so it might be easier to find a spare part on a ride if someone breaks down. Personally, I love the YFZ, but they do have a much harder edge. They ride stiffer, practically demand a quicker ride pace, and need more frequent preventative maintenance similar to what your bud with the 450 KFX surely has to do. In the end, I would rather take the machine that has been cared for over one that might be a better fit but have more potential issues.

I would take the YFZ, reason is, it would have quite a bit more power over the KFX. It would be way better in the dunes cuz of the long travel suspension, plus a lot more adjustability than the shocks on the 400. Besides the no reverse fact, the YFZ would be a good trail machine with lots of torque.
