650 for an 03 z400 is pretty low, make sure it hasn't been hammered on too hard. Also, the 03 had a problem with stress cracks in the shock mounts and some of the frame parts if jumped and raced hard, they sell gusset kits to reinforce the weak spots. The Warrior is a solid, dependable quad with a proven engine, its a tank. Performance wise, the z400 with the liquid cooled higher comp motor is the hands down winner, it is lighter, faster, has better suspension geometry than the much older style Warrior, which hasnt changed much at all since it came out. Check the shock mounts and frame on the Z, ride it and see how you like it. That Warrior is super clean, but for 650 bucks, you could afford to put a little money in the Z and have a real nice quad. Bottom line, ride them both, and pick the one that suits your riding style the best.

How serious are you about mudding? I can tell you from experience that a 2wd with a low swing arm suspension isn't going to get you too far in mud. Blast to drive on dunes, trails, and hard pack though.

You can get through maybe a few inches of mud on a sport quad. Once it gets deep though, you find yourself wanting more clearance underneath and 2 more tires pulling you through.

Looks like warrior is sold, author delete it from Craigslist. Warrior would've been a nice machine to own. Warrior is like a tank, and very dependable.
