Default z400 or 400ex?

I'm looking at a 2004 z400 and was also looking a 400 ex 00-04.How reliable is the z400 and is there anything that I should be aware of since it is a used quad.Or get a 400 ex?

Both are very good machines. The z will require a little more maintenance, due to the liquid cooling. The ex is about as bullet proof as they come. If you're looking for gas and go, that's the one to go with.

Both are great machines, and pretty close reliability wise. The Z does have more power, and more potential for reliable power with upgrades. Since you are looking at used machines, maintenance and condition would play a huge factor in my decision.
