Default which ATV based upon weight:

Looking to buy an ATV for my wife so she can ride the trails along with me on my WR.
I am totally ignorant about ATV features on different brands but would like advice based on a few features:
1. which all wheel drive 400 range is lightest?
2. which have FI?
3. which have IRS?
4. can you list which ATV based on power?
5. can you list approx fuel mileage? (for instance are Hon, Kaw,Yam,Suz the same)
6. any other things I should consider?

I read that the CanAm is possibly the heaviest so I have dismissed that one unless the difference is only 20-25 lbs. I like what I read about one of the Honda's- I thought I read it had IRS but another articles said straight axle? Don't know what else to ask???

Yea I was looking into that ATV but also wanted to get some detailed information to make my decision. Hope to find a used machine for her first one.

What is an SXS?

It stands for "Side by Side" they are basically a small jeep.

Not off a lot of 400 with IRS and less with EFI.

Outlander 400 or 420 Rancher AT. Also Yamaha 450/350 Grizzly but its not EFI.

The 400 Suzuki KQ/Eiger is nice but its only a Straight axle I think.

Honda has IRS on some of their quads but I think they only started using it on one model for 2014. For 2015 they have a few different models with IRS. If you want anything older than that it's going to be a SRA.

Hay all,

While you are on the topic of weight to bike ratio topic, I was looking at getting myself a race quad and was wondering what my best bet would be. I'm 6'1'' and about 215lbs. I've been looking at the Honda TRX 450r, Yamaha Raptor 660 and the Kawasaki KFX 450r. Any input!!

Cheers

Any of the 450 cc class quads are a good start.
