I would take the lt250r over a 400ex personally. But that is just the thing, it is nostalgia. They are fast, handle decent, but also a 25 to 30 year old machine. Damn cool having that 2 stroke ripper between your legs though.

I had a 400 ex, two lt500`s, and a lt250, I owned the 250, three times, and rebuilt it the last 2 times I owned it. the 400 ex was a very dependable bike, but was my least favorite of the bunch!

They(400ex) are great trail quads, they just lack a little soul compared to the old school 2 strokes. I have had several over the years, and they can be made to out run most stuff in production today, yet still be manageable. Fairly cheap to get big power. To bad the frame and suspension is very 80s althou th even that can be remedied. Reliability is not a strong suit if you ride them hard though.

^^^^^^ This is what I'm saying as well....I'm very "old" school. I still have a Banshee....and I get a "quik" thill when I need it. But if I could afford it, I would like to have one of each......of the late 80"s two stroke ATV's....
