I am going to be buying a new ATV in the next month or so,,i will only be riding about 4 times a month or so due to my job..Most of my riding will be in a sandy riverbottom..Which ATV would be the best with a few upgrades? 250ex,Mojave or Blaster? any opinions would be appreciated..

 

The Mojave gets dissed in the magazine reviews every time. Can't say, I have never ridden one. The Blaster is a hot bike, but ours hasn't held up really well and neither have my kids friends Blasters. The Blaster has tons of hop-up potential. The 250 is a nice bike and should hold up well. It has a few little quirks, like the steering pushes a bit in turns and it is a little tippy. These were cured easily by going to Holeshot 22" front (XC) and rear (XCT) tires, and ITP rims that widen the back end about 3".

All these bikes are small, so I hope you aren't a 6 footer. If you're young and still growing, consider that you may outgrow these bikes pretty quickly. If this is the case, you might consider a bigger bike.

 

i would go with the Blaster. it has alot of hop up potiental like the banshee! The blaster is already the fastest of the three you mentioned stock! the Blaster goes about 60mph, Mojave about 55-58mph, and the 250EX tops about around 53-55mph

 

I would also go with the Blaster. I myself am thinking about getting one. It's cheap. The Mojave and 250ex are about the same pricewise. Honda has said it's having trouble with it. The Mojave is also a good bike it's just not as easy to hop up.

 

What kind of trouble is Honda having out of the 250?

 

honda hasnt had trouble with the 250ex. Mojave isn't really an option. It's outdated.
So let's compare the 2 real choices:
250ex vs Blaster
250ex:
Reverse with a shaft [not chain engine]- not very sporty but more reliable (like a car)
That guy's speeds are pretty exagerrated. And 1 or 2 mph doesnt make a difference unless your running the flat's 24-7
Electric start not a kick
all important reverse
easier to maintain as a 4 stroke


CHOICE is pretty clear

yea how is the mojave outdated? honda only has air cooled sport quads, the mojave is a DOHC liquid cooled 4-valve so tell me how is that outdated.

Blaster:fast trails,gravel pits,racing,ect ect

mojave:technical trail riding,gravel pits,some hills,ect ect

250ex,technical trails,alittle mud,or just putting around,ect ect

if any of those bikes suit your riding style thats what you should get

 

the mojave is outdated by its frame and suspension it has a good motor but with the stock frame which is heavy for a frame people call the mojave outdated........i think the better quad is the blaster small yes but you can always make it faster!
