Big Bore Magazine Shoot Out
#1
The Canadian magazine " ALL TERRAIN VEHICLE" just did a shoot out between the Sportsman 700, Grizzly 660, Prairie 650 and Quest 650. They rated each machine 1st through 4th in 15 different categories. First place got 4 points, 2nd got 3 points, 3rd 2 and 4th 1. Overall the Polaris won with 47 points, finishing first in 7 categories. These were racks, ground clearance, top speed, tight woods (surprisingly) fast trails, noise vibration and harshness, and finally mud and water. The Yamaha came in second with 40 points. It took first in the following 4 categories; ergonomics, weight, descending hills, and sport. Third went to the Kawasaki with 37 points. It was judged best in the acceleration and hill climbing categories. Last place went to the Quest with 26 points, having won only the braking and utility categories and being judged poorest in 9 of the 15.

Thanks for the results!!! my friend is looking at the new sportsman, and we were fearful of the weight. Seeing the results, i would have to say it can hold its own real well. I am happy to see the grizzly is in a close second to it, being i own one, haha. I cant beleave the polaris won in the tight woods??? my friends sportsman is awful in the tight woods do to the hard steering. Looks like there is a new breed of utility vehicles being born, and i love it. I chose my grizzly for my own riding situtations, and it servs me vary well. It seems to be heading back to brand loility again. if you love yamaha, then the grizzly will be tops in your eyes. if you love kaw, then the praire will be tops in your eyes, and so on... the end result will be the magazine of your choice telling us witch one is better all around, and we all know no 2 magazines will be the same, hahaha.
