hey everybody, i'm looking for an atv. i think i've come down to either a lakota or a 325 trailboss. were i live, in the paper there is a 2000 lakota and trailboss, both asking $2500. what are the top speeds on both, and does anybody know any other similar machines?

lakota all the way i love mine! top speed on a stock lakota is about 53mph! trail boss i dunno but the trail blazor is about 51mph and that is faster than the boss i think! and the boss is belt driven so that suckes! even thought it is a 325 the 300 lakota would be my buy! the only other one that will keep up with the lakota is the 250ex, mojove, blaster! but the lakota is what i would buy! i have riden them all! but i like the sime manuale shifter for fun running! i have automatics! just my in put!

o ya p.s. the suspension on the lakota is way better!

The trailboss has a top speed of 45-50 depending on rider size. I'm a big guy and it pulls me up any hill I want and it has polaris suspension which means the most plush ride in ATVs. Test drive one you'll be surprised at how fun of a machine it can be. The price can't be matched. As you can see I own one so I'm a biased in my opinion. Trailboss is a boring machine.Heavy,no ground clearance about 48 MPH.Good for a trail riding ,have a mud on your mind?,forget Polaris.

ya know what, i don't know what type of quad i want. i was looking at the 300ex used, but i could get a 400ex for like the same price. the only downfall to that is that it doesn't have reverse, and i'm going to do mostly trails. i'm also looking at the wolverine, but it has 4 wheel drive all the time. i was looking at a polaris scrambler, but i just wished they looked more sportier. What do u all think i should do?

The wolverine is a wise choice. I just purchased one on wednesday. I didnt notice at all that its 4 wheel drive all the time, when turing, it is a little harder to kick the rear end out and it always wants to go straight but seems like a good quad, I've only had it for a day so give me awhile. Far as the lakota my friend has a 99 he takes that thing everywhere rarely gets its stuck, except deep mud. I dont know top speed but its pretty quick. Its all in what you want out of a quad, your the one riding it so take your time look around find what you want..

The lakota is a great bike. I had mine goin 57 mph the other day on the street with a supertrapp pipe. The lakota is a great buy it is the cheapest mid-sized bike with the best and most dependable bike on the market. Defenately the lakota is the choice plus most of the polarias's suck butt because of the crappy belt drive that slips alot.
