I was wondering if anyone has used this to purchase a new ATV. I got an online quote for a
2000 400EX for 5689.38 to my door. Not a bad price however, to my door means the thing is still in a crate. What exactly does it take for a dealer to prep an ATV for sale?

Hello,
Saw you post, was extremely interested.
I fully promote the internet as a way to save
$$$, but....
I see little if any savings on this site.
I ran numbers on a couple of models of vehicles
that I know exactly what they would cost.
I can buy a Big Bear in my area for $5150 plus tax and reg, completely assembled and ready to go.
A brand new Honda Spirit 1100C can be had for $7200 plus tax and tags.
According the this site you're paying nearly, if not more, the negotiated price and then you have to finish assemble the thing yourself.
I wonder how warrantees would be handled, should something go wrong with the assembly process?
I would shop around and buy a leftover if you want to save $$$ in this instance.
I will say, though, I did use Autobytel.com
as a bargaining tool when I bought my 1998 Dodge Stratus. My vehicle listed for $19000 and I paid $14,500.
Good luck to you.
NY Pete

IMHO It would appear that by the time you pay the $400-600 freight, you could just go up the street and get the same deal.
I too used autobytel to purchase a truck a few years ago and that went great. Too bad they can't just hook you up with a local dealer to give a great price like the auto folks.
I wonder how many people are going this route?
The base price looks very "wholesale" but the add-ons kill the deal.

I just checked out the site, and looked up a Blaster. I'm in Southeast Texas, and here is what I found from them: 3719.33

I can get one in Louisiana for 3262. 3700 is expensive. The list for the blaster is 2939, the list for the 400ex is 4899. That's a huge savings compared to what the dealers want, MSRP. The blaster isn't though. Kinda sucks.

Later,

Jason

The banshee is cheap though, 5,200 to my door!

If i can come up with 5,200 i will buy one instead of a 400EX!

I agree with sasglm. The price quoted was very good but the add on freight nearly $600, crate charge & a few other charges. It wasn't much of a deal.

I have used autobytel to buy my last 2 vehicles and save mucho money!

Leisurebytel still needs some work to make it viable.
