I have a 99 blaster that has treated me well for almost a year. But i need to step up. My budget will be around 3.5 grand. I ride 40% trails, 30% pits, 20% hills, and 10% track. I am looking at the 400ex, banshee,Lt250r,and 250r. I love two strokes but the 400ex is nice. what is the right quad for my riding conditions?

the ex would have better handling but probably less power then you blaster you might want to look at a Z if you want a little more power then an ex and better mod potential like the 450 yoshi kit that adds a fair amount of hp.. The raptor would also be a good choice great all around quad and a lot more power then a ex. The banshee is a great dune quad but not the greatest trail or handeling quad. Also the 250 would also be a good stepp up from the blaster and its got the 2-stroke power that you love. But ya if you have the money for 4strokes i suggest u get a Raptor and if not then a Z400.

toomeyblaster,
Wake up if you think a Blaster has more power than an EX. I can say that because I used to own a Blaster. The only way it was more faster was after about $1500 in mods, and even then a piped EX would still outrun it. The Blaster is a great starter bike but if a person was to get serious I would get a Z, EX or a 2002 or later Raptor, or a DS.

hey dillis chill i said his blaster and if you noticed its piped ported and has lots of other mods on it 2. I bet u he could beat a 400EX in a drag not in mx tho. And if its a good porting job it will outdrag a piped 400EX (anywayz most pipes on a 400EX only add a couple of hp and u don't even half to change the jetting with the exception of one guy on the forum), talk to RC350 his son has a piped and ported blaster and he outdrags modified 400EXs. And if you put the same amount of money in a blaster as a 400EX you have a pretty fast machine for a 200cc engine.

my cousin has a 96 blaster. its ported, polished, bored .30 over, and has a pipe, jets, and bypassed the oil injector. his quad runs dang close to my 03 rap through the first 2 or 3 gears, then i leave him. a modified blaster is fast. remember, the honda 250r is just that, a 250. and yet, they can do a lot with the same types of mods. i have no doubt that he could beat a stock ex, and he definately would give a piped one a run for his money. unless you've done it, id watch what you say...
