Default What new kids ATV

Having 9 & 7 year old girls and a 4 year old boy and only one kids ATV - a Husky 50.......I am in the market for a new ATV or two. I've heard that the Kasea KS series ATV's have junky frames. Any suggestions as to what kids ATV is the most dependable, doesn't fall apart and isn't a total dog? Don't need them to race it - just riding trails and fields...up and down hills.

Any opinions regarding these kids ATV's (in 50 or 90cc)????

Kasea Skyhawks (is there a dif. between 2002 & 2003 models)

Dinli

Extreme

Eton Viper

Any suggestions/opinions/help is much appreciated. I am not a mechanic or an ATV expert....just a dad trying to let his kids have some fun.

Thanks!

The Suzuki LT80 is the best seller and rated number 1 by atv mag, but now it is a Kawasaki.
here are the top 6 (form ATV Magazine)
If you can find one, get the september 2002 atv magazine, that test 6 of them.

I heard the KS was a chinese product that was discontinued because it did not meet Kasea's standards. Everything that I have read on the Skyhawks is positive (both from magazines and owners). Every forum has something on these machines. Check them out.

My dad bought my first mini-bike from Sears when I was 5. It was a great bonding tool I hope to share with my kids, too. I plan to get my 4 year old a mini. Whatever you decide to purchase, I'm sure your kids will have a blast.

These are the best prices I've found (please let me know if you can do better - delivered)

www.anythingatv.com
50cc - $1,699
90cc - $1,849

www.dirtrides.com
mini 50cc - $1,100
(also has the 250cc for $2,700!!!)

Good luck!

I am leaning towards the raptor 80 for 3 reasons #1 electric start (tired of pull starting that @#$%$ LT50) #2 shaft drive tired of @#$% with the chain on the LT50. # 3 its a for stroke just put gas in it and go have fun. I pull more maintinace on the Lt50 than any other bile I have. Not Impressed at all with the suki.

I bought the Kasea Skyhawk 50 for my daughter. I like the fact that it has a foot brake just like the bigger ATVs. I worried that she couldn't pull the hand brakes of the other models.

I am pretty impressd with this little machine. Kasea has stepped it up from when they first came out and the quality looks good. If you can check one out in person you will see what I mean. The aftermarket is huge, too. I can upgrade this quad for a long time and the 90 uses the same frame, so a motor swap later on down the road would save some money on buying a new one. I'm pretty sure the Polaris uses the same motor since it is actually Tiawanese built with just the Polaris name on it.

Check out Hetrick Racing for performance parts.

In my opinion it is one of the nicest looking minis (looks like a 400EX). The Predator is awesome looking, too. Don't be fooled by the Raptor...it is just the same outdated Badger all dressed up with the worst frontend setup available. I'm sure the kids will love anything you give them! If dealer support is important then stick with one of the name brands. I do all my own work so it does not matter to me, plus I modify everything so a warranty is no good to me either! If something breaks it's just an excuse to upgrade it!

Good luck with whatever you get!
