Default utility or sport?

I am in the market for an ATV and need a couple suggestions. I want to use the atv at our lake house to push and pull out our jet ski trailer and to haul stuff to and from the beach. I also want it just for fun on our huge beach. I don't know if I should get a sport or utility model because I want it to be fast and nimble for fun but I also want it to work. I have ridden a lot of ATVs but don't know a lot about each brand or model. I like the honda 400ex but because of previous experience but I don't know if that's what I need.

Thanks for any help,
Joe

Utitity atvs have come a long ways. Just about any big bore out there will haul jet skis and still be a lot of fun on the beach. Take my prairie for example; This machine will pull a house down but it will also keep up with a lot of sports at the dunes. Give the big bores a chance you will be impressed with how sporty they have become.

We ride our utilities like sport quads, and keep up just fine. For hauling your jet ski...can you put a hitch on a sport? Only one I know of is a Scrambler? I'd have to agree that the Prairie 650 will pull the house if you want it to, and it's very sport-like to ride...very fast.

Jengle, Go with the sport utilily quad. I have a suzuki vinson it's the best of both sport and utility. It's fast nimble and fun to ride. The machine has a ton of power.

How about a sport/utility like a Yamaha Wolverine or something like that they are fun to ride and have enough power to do about anything that you want it too and if i'm not mistaken it IS a 4x4 just in case you need that extra pull.Good Luck in finding a quad!

Sport quads would be alot of fun on the beach. You can buy CMP hitches for sport quads but just make sure the hitch is rated right for what you'll be pulling. If you were to get a sport quad, I'd get one with reverse so you can backup the trailer. CMP makes hitches for alot of different types of sport quads.
