What to Buy???
Im a 14 year old looking to buy a racing quad. Im 5'7 and Im 210 pounds. I want to buy a quad in about a year or so and Im deciding what to buy. I've been looking mainly at the Z400 and the 400EX. I like the newer and more updated Z400 but they're harder to find used, but since Im not buying one any time soon I think they'll come on the used market then. But the 400ex in cheaper and more easily available. I've riden a Honda foreman ES before but now im looking for a quad for my self, I wont be doing any work with the quad so I like the racing quads. I wont be buying anything new since im paying for half of it and my parents are buying the other half. Are the quads Im looking at to fast for me and should I look at something a little tamer? This is also going to be my quad for a long time and I wont be buying a quad in like 3 years or anything like that.
Thanks

I am exactly your height and weight (but not your age!!). Either bike will fit you perfectly, but at 14 you may grow even more in the future. I definitely recommend the Z if you can go that route. It is incramentally better than the EX in EVERY WAY. But, if money is a limiting factor, you should be able to find an EX real cheap. Around here, NEW EX's are discounted $1000, because of competition from other bikes.
My 13 year old daughter (she passes for 16) rides my old EX and a Rancher, with no problems. At your weight, you don't want anything smaller than a 400!! Just take it real easy at first, until you get really use to the bike. Your riding ability will improve over time. Either of these, are bikes you can "grow into".

Since you aren't going to buy a quad for a year or so, hopefully there will be a couple more choices to buy by the time you're ready. (New Honda?, New Yamaha?) This should also make the used 400EX's and Z400's more affordable. Just try to take this time to save up for the quad. Good Luck.
