Default bombardier quest 650 running problem

i have a quest 650 on a 2002 which has a running problem . what the bike does is it will run fine for a couple of minutes when i first ride it then it will back fire and only let u push the throttle just above tick over then if i ride it like this for about five mins to get it hot and switch it off then start it back up it will run fine for about two or three hours then back fire and go to the splutter again i have checked the earths on it cleaned the carb and filter in the carb changed the coil stick just woundered if anyone had any ideas or the same fault and what to check next. Im in the uk and there isnt many people that have worked on this bike.

I feel your pain... I just bought an 02 about a year ago and it's my first atv... I've had several issues with it and here's what I've done with mine and it's worked so far:
1. Check the boot between your carb and the head... Mine was dry rotted and cracked 3/4 of the way around. Take your carb and move it up and down with your hand... If there are cracks, you will see them and that's your problem...
2. Check your vents on the top entrance end.. The one on the left should have a vacuum cap and the one on the right should be connected to a hose... I still to this day do not know what these ports do exactly but I do know through experimentation that if you cap both off, it will run super rich, load up, run hot, and not be rideable until you get it cleared...

hi thanks for replying to my problem since i put it on here i have fixed mt atv and the oil light on the dash was broke and then when i got it fixed it turned out that i had a broken oil pressure switch many thanks for your help thow
