Wow, the DS is Fast!!

guys as ive posted before for the last year ive tried many adjustments to get my carb to run with my mods.. and i finally went with the dial a jet.. anyway i also cut a few coils off the spring and replaced the slide assmebly and rubber seal up top... i got a carb mount with the vacum line in tact via a small PVC connection, as many have done, same setup... ANYWAY.... this weekend it ran unbelivable.. It has sooo much power off the line, but the real improvement was top end.... I wish i could re-race all the drags ive done in the past year.. couple raptors and one damn Predator come to mind.........ANYWAY.. This weekend i beat every Raptor but one, beat the piped banshee's, was exactly tied with an ALBA made banshee, i dont know what he had done........... everyone was saying my bike was FAST.. I rode up to the Raptor rider later, the one who beat me by about two bike lengths at 1/2 mile (thats it, not by much) looked like he had a yosh pipe..... But the 22" 10 paddle haulers caught my attention.... He said he had a high comp piston and cams among other things... i just smiled and said "nice bike" rode off...... Im soooo happy my baby stage one hung so well this weekend......... I can really tell you guys that are still tweakin with the carbs... two things one the dial a jet is a sweet product... and the difference between being jet'ed exactly right and a bit off, is huge, my engine is just a differnt animal now...... I love it.

Thats great. Isnt it nice when your hard work finally pays off. I ran this weekend at Rabbit Creek here in TX and mine was running the best it ever has. I run Alky and sometimes the temp messes with it. I just wonder if this Dial-a-jet would work with it.

For the folks whom question the necessary accuracy of the needle clip, I measured four bike lengths on one clip position. Same run, same bikes, same mods, same gears. Once the other bike moved to the faster bikes needle position, they were dead equal -- except for the hole shot and rpm butterflys. Find a consistant rider to baseline your performance and adjust the needle to perfection. Or luck up to a friend with a dyno.
The hill was Dumonts Comp Hill. IMO, a long brutal climber.
JetJock, thanks for the spring feedback, I was a little scared.....Now I'm not afraid of the dikes anymore. 8~)

It controls anything above quarter throttle. When I'm dinking with jetting, I always look for improvement with a stop watch on a measured run or running to the top of a sand hill. The seat of the pants sometimes feels better, but the stopwatch doesn't lie.
