Who is a good place for this service? What kind of performance from this?

 

Just more questions, what does it do? does it lighten the gear or let you speed shift?
Are there other tranny mods, I remember AZsand saying something about a lockout tranny or something to that effect?

 

Back cutting the gears is not so much about incresing preformance as it is about getting the tranny to handle the power, Jeffnrivercity was having problem with it poping out of gear under hard acceleration in the lower gears (1,2,3) so he had them back cut (just 1,2, & 3 I think, sorry don't know where) and cryro treated (frezze the trany) I think he has been trouble free since then, I had my tranny frozzen too but didn't back cut, time will tell if I should have done the back cut too

 

Back cutting the engagement dogs will cause the gears to be drawn together under power VS forced apart. It puts a slight angle on the gear engagement dogs/lugs.

 

I had mine done at MRE, and like someone said it dosen't give you anything speed wise, but hopefully it will keep my gear dogs from rounding off, and causing the tranny to jump out of gear.


I had 1st, 2nd, and 3rd done, and the total cost was around $170.

hey guys my tranny jumps out of gear between 2nd and 3rd when draggin once and awhile... At least once every other dune weekend.... What is this situation you talk of and how bad is it on my tranny, should i get the gears back cut as you mention... whats the cause and whats the fix... Thanks alot guys.
