HELP! GAS IN OIL???
#1
This is the second time! Someone said last time that I shouldn't leave my gas on while it sits. Said it would run out carb and get in the oil! Is there something I'm missing here?

Check to make sure that your choke is all the way in. When I first bought my DS, my choke would stick in the first position and the bike would run very rich getting noticeable gas in the oil.
If the float needle doesn't seat, gas should come out the overflow hose. Check to see if it is plugged in the end. If the needle sticks or doesn't seat well gas will run up into the carb throat and into the cylinder. Yes, if you park the bike for you should turn off the gas.

Umm, when I let my float overflow tube hanging with the gas on...there's fuel that drips out of it...So your saying it's not supposed to be like that?!?
I run a TM45.
Thanks
Edit : My bike is running quite rich...Could this be the cause??

if gas drips from the overflow/vent tube, then that measn the needle valve on the float is not shutting gas off, which in turn also makes the bike run rich, and can allow gas into the oil when the bike is sitting, like mystereid said.

Hey, bite your lip, it's those nylocks that keep your bike together. Go ride with Raptor guys and watch the parts fall off.
What is hard to work with is that they must use locktite on the carb bowl screws.
