DS spraying anti freeze
#1
I was riding the ds a few days ago, after about an hour, antifreeze started spraying out. I did not see where it was coming from, just noticed it on the side of the quad, the next day after washing it, I opened the cap, and it still had a little pressure, so I know the radiator is not leaking, then I filled up the radiator, let it run for a while, rode it around the yard a few times, no leaks, so I took it for a ride, and then after about an hour, I noticed I had antifreeze sprayed on the side again...It appears to be coming out of the reservoir cap vent..Now the other day the reservoir was full when it sprayed out..this time it was half full when it came out..Any Ideas?

possible blown head gaskit.. check to see if your oil has any anti-freeze also. mine did the same thing when i blew a head gaskit. what mods do you have? maybe try to re-torque the head

dam wayne, that sucks - sounds like the head gasket to me too. the gasket can be leaking only under the pressure of compression, allowing motor compression to force antifreeze out of the tube, and not necesarily show up any coolant in the oil. you need to have a reputable mechanic perform a leak-down test, not just a quick compression check. if he knows what he's doing, he'll know what a leak-down test is, and will be able to tell you exactly what's up.
dude, that blows big time, no pun intended. I was hoping you would be coming out west with us...

The good news is that Team-Pami now has new and improved head gaskets for the 703 and 760 that are alot better then the old ones

This don't sound good but what else could it be ? It takes about an hour of riding before this happens...Jeff, do I need to get one from gottfried, or does someone here in the states have them.?

Jeffnrivercity, are the new pami head gaskets the aluminum tripple layer with rolled lip groove for o-ring? just wondering because that is the one i tried and it seemed to hold up for about 1 hour, but then the bottom end went out. but the head seemed to remain sealed with this gasket.
