Default 2004 new ds

hey everyone...well dont beat me up but i have a scrambler 500 2x4 which i like but seen that the 2004 ds is supposed to be narrower and shorter....the only reason i didnt buy one first is cause had heard and seen that too bulky for most trail ridin......my question is has the 2004 hit the showrooms if so gonna go ride one and maybe trade....also do ds have very touchy clutches or can you lug them pretty good?

they lug fine and if stock isn't slow enough gear it down, it trail rides with the kids great and races with banshees great.
