Default HEY I NEED HELP PLEAZE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought my first quad at 15. My parents helped me out alot with money so they had alot of input on what quad IO had to buy. My heart was set on a brand new 1996 banshee, but the frickin dealership said I wasn'tready for it. So I got talked into the 96 warrior. Still got the thing and it runs great. I vouch for the warrior they certainly take a lickin and a rollin very well.

I will say this, though I out grew it quickly and shouldn't have let people talk me out off the shee.

You can find a used Trailblazer 250 for around $1500. A great beginner quad. 2 stroke power, automatic, reverse, and good suspension. Get an RCR stage 1 kit for $329 and it will be a totally different quad. However, all the other quads that everyone mentioned are good as well. It all depends on what you want...auto or manual, reverse or no reverse, 2 stroke or 4 stroke? 2 strokes have more potentail for more power than 4 strokes do, however, 4 stroke are more reliable and require less maintance. Check out ATV Trader for something in your area.

I'll say this, the under 16 rule is a Joke for most Kids over 10, don't go by that if you faimily is out to have fun togather, It's a marketing scam to talk parents into buying several quads in short period.

I have a 13 year old going on 14. He started out at age 12 with a Blaster, these are very quick bikes your first time rides and there is room to improve ones skills. Two strokes do have their down side, but they are cheap and fairly eazy to work on. That quad lasted about 8 months before replacement.(had to upgrade) Now at 13 he rides a 400EX and does better than me, Luckly he is still a bit timid and causous at this age (hasn't been hurt yet). I just wonder what age 16 will bring? I told him no Banshee until than!
Another thing, I always make him pay part of the quad cost and for all the modifications he wants. It keeps him busy mowing lawns and such and he respects the quad better that way.

Whatever you get, ride as a faimly and have fun......

Good Luck

well it would be a little more money than your stated max but the price of the honda 400 is dropping fast and as far as a good kids quad that you can grow into and mod that is agreat machine you would be happy for years with it. i've been seeing them advertised for 3500 so i know there are a few going cheaper.

The blaster is a great bike, but two strokes in general require rebuilds. I would rather spend a few extra duckets on a 300-400EX and ride it forever. 250EX is to small. Go four stroke to keep the maintenance costs to a minimum.

My son (11) was thrashing the 250EX to its power and suspension limits in less than 6 months, and he only weighs 90lbs.
