I like it.

I would like to put an EGT on it though. Too bad they are about $300 though.

How much did the temp gauge run you and how hard was it to install?

looks good, matches the tach nice.
my bike averages about 195, 205 if I spend alot of time on tight slow trails at low speeds with little wind to blow across the radiator. 205 is the temp the fan comes on. I use regular old antifreeze and water, diluted with freeze protection to 0.
FYI - the red light comes on at 239deg, so whatever gauge you get, make sure it has ample range to tell you what you need to know.

mrmeaner, rite now it usually runs between 150-175 but thats days wen its 65, u have a sweet lookin ds by the way,
1bigdsrider, its the Autometer 2 1/6" Sport Comp Water Temp guage, #3339 i believe, it cost me about $42 off ebay, but i believe you can get them from Jegs,i used a 2" holesaw to cut the hole in the dash and then used a round file 2 make it fit, i also had 2 take off the thermostat housing and retap the top sensor to 1/4" NPT, i had to use some fittings that i had laying around to raise the sensor up since its longer than the stock one, and then the wiring,
hightower, thanx, i originally wanted the pro comp one but it was 2 large to fit into the dash so i had 2 settle with this, but i'm really happy with how i turned out, now i can just look down 2 c how hot i'm runnin instead of leaning 2 the side

dude, that's amazingly cold - the thermostat does not even open until 185, this is book spec as well as confirmed on my gauge too.
even when my bike was fully stock, it was 190 in the dead of winter riding in snow.

are you sure? i thought it opened alot lower than that? and in the winter if nothin was infront of the rad it go down 2 like 100 if i was going down the river in 5th, thats wen i started using cardboard

edit: i looked on my cd manual and it says the fan thermostat opens at 205 and closes at 221 and the engine thermostat opens at 185 and closes at 167, i thought there was only one thermostat, or and just not thinking right?
