hey, i have a 2002 ds650 baja with a big gun exhaust,dynojet jet ,kit,k&n air filter and right now
i am on clip position 2 and 2 turns out on mixture screw when i roll on the trottle off to 1/4 it pops and misses just for a second and than is fine everyewhere else,if you can help me please do

Do a search for under the heading jetting. There you will find a link to a member's website that lists jetting done. Try the settings that most closely resemble your set-up. (ie direct-mount, lid off, etc). The popping usually means a lean condition though.

 

sound like you have a lean condition when the carb leaves the pilot jet and goes to the needle. The fix for this one is to move the needle down one clip and test. continue this process until the pop leaves poping is ususally a lean condition. Do you run a airbox.

 

Turn idle mixture screw out 4 turns.
If backfiring still exists, replace pilot jet with a 47.5 or if not available a 50(stock is 45).
If you have carb off, check float bowl height, should be .390 when checked at center of main jet.
