Default Oil/Temp light

I went riding this week end and when I started my bike the red light would not go out. I tried bleeding the oil like the book discribes but it didn't help. Any other ideas. I have plenty of oil and it looks good.

Did you wash it or go threw water? They sensors are known for going out. I have replaced mine 4 time and found out that it would go out after washing it. I wrap it in a piece of plastic before I wash my DS and it hasn't gone out since. Just pull the wire off the oil pressure sensor and see if the light goes out, is it does thats your problem.

I pulled the boot off of the sencer and it was full of water. When I pulled the wire off the light went out. I take it that my sencer is bad. Does any one know if I can put a genaric one in.(with the same specs) Or maybe the part number for the stock one. Thanks for the help.

Not sure on the part # but the dealer can get them for about $12. Just tell them you need the oil pressure sensor. It only took them 2 days to get mine.

I agree. Ditch the factory idiot light in favor of a guage. That was you will know for sure if what is going on inside your motor.
