I got them from Rocky Mountain ATV. I had to wait about 2 weeks. I was going to get 7 paddle haulers but I got 8's instead for a little more traction plus it was only 8 or 10 dollars more. I paid 230 with tax and shipping. The rims are Douglas black labels (that’s all that is out now unless you buy from the dealer and they are 100 apiece for red label). Good luck....

I got a chance to try out the tires yesterday. There is a little place by my house with some fun sand dunes and good hills. All I can say is WOW!!
I was pulling power wheelies shifting into second up the hills!! The 8 paddles are a good combination of traction and handling the DS has more than enough power to spin then to turn and maneuver. I have an exhaust tip that seams to do very well other than that it is stock except for rejetting. I would suggest the 8 paddle haulers to anyone looking for lots of traction and still good handling. RIDE ON !!!

Cool. I am looking for the Sand Skate II's. I was trying for Rocky Mt. ATV, but they were out of the directional paddles, of all brands. I have been trying with them for the last two months.

I have been dealing with Rocky Mt. ATV for about 8 years and I have had great luck in dealing with them. Great quality products and fast service.

Thanks,

$100 ea from a dealer? I consider that a great price, from a dealer! Try buying the front rim for a 350X! I tried about six years ago, so I could run a smoothy for the dunes, they wanted $200 for one wheel!

I may check out my dealer. If they have the red label wheels for $100, that isn't that bad. Most places charge around $80-100 for the standard red labels, once you subtract the tire cost on those package deals and add the additional cost for red label wheels.

Of course, if my dealer does sell them for $100 a piece, I just may have a heart attack! They are a Honda dealer after all. When they want $70 for the manual, $100 for a rim doesn's sound that bad. Of course, they charge about $100 a piece for the tires, so I doubt that my dealer will sell the rims for $100.

Laters,

There is only one problem with the rims from the dealer they are 9 in rims. There is a smaller selection of tires for a 9 in rim. I think that there are haulers and a few other tires that come in 9 in. If you are interested in the rims from the dealer I think that my dealer would ship them to you if you ordered the rims from them. Let me know if you want there #. Later

That's true....well, I guess I will try around to everyone in the magazines. I will wait for the 10 inch wheels with Sand Skate II's. Since the DS has so much suspension, 8-9" wheels are not as necessary to ease the shock of impacts. I have run 10" with paddles for my 350X and I like how they handle.

Thanks for the info,

Well, I've been searching my **** off for sand tires and an extra set of rims to put them on and it's been total hell! (for my DS)

However, I thought I'd share this with you all.

http://www.jlatvproducts.com

The woman I spoke with was VERY INFORMATIVE and VERY INTELLIGENT in regards to ATV tire sizes & rims.

She mentioned Douglas will be coming out with a .160 rim for the DS soon but it seems NO ONE has any in stock that will fit the DS.

By the way their prices on aluminum .190 were just a tad over $50!!! Excellent price for one of your other bikes.

If anyone is interested Douglas' phone is 800-722-3746.

Also, I'm sure this will come in handy for us all...she gave me the bolt pattern for the DS.

It's 4 by 143

The only unfortunate thing was, all they have left in regards to a sand tire are the Skat Trak Edge (20x10x10 8 paddle) and they're 92.95 each. The more expensive of all the sand tires (which is probably the only reason they have em left). She has one pair left and that's it.

I doubt I'll buy em, I'd rather go the frugal route and get Kenda's The Trekker for nearly half the price. What do you think?

If someone knows of a place where I can get a set of V paddles for under $150 (IN STOCK) let me know ASAP, Please! Same goes for .190 rims (IN STOCK) I'm an impatient bas*ard.

Thanks! and hope this helps everyone!

If you're tired of waiting for rims, you might be able to install more standard/common hubs that have rims available today for them. The hubs might even be lighter than the stock DS650 hubs, which would be a plus.

I had to wait 2 weeks for my tires and wheels. Douglas makes a .016 rim that fits the DS I got mine last friday with 20x10x10 haulers. (230 with shipping). Rocky mountain ATV has them but there is such a demand that Douglas can't keep up and they are all back ordered about two weeks. good luck and keep us posted if you find a .019 rim later..

Dammit, I could kick myself for not thinking of that! LOL Now the question is...Where do I find new hubs that fit on the DS' axle??
