Predator is lighter than a Raptor. Get a YFZ450 it would be a perfect bike for you.

What is your SKILL level??? (1 -10)??

You need to adapt yourself to a quad that is best siuted to your skill level. If your a novice rider , you should be on a 300ex,Blaster,or Warrior. These quads are Great to have fun on,and can do anything the HIGH performance ones can, but at a lilttle slower pace, but still REAL FUN!!

If your are one of those kids that grew up on quads, and can match skills with GOOD riders, than a Z400,or Honda 400ex. or Yamaha YFZ450 is your best bet. These quads would be easier for you to handle with your size and wieght. The DS,and Rapptor, along with the Vforce, do require alittle more muscle to get around in the same places, at the same speeds as the others for a little guy.

GOOD LUCK.

Bigger.

well guys i know what you are saying to him but what about the sixty year old out riding his 600 pound plus 4x4 quad don't think he is going to enjoy moving that thing when he gets stuck, i say take all the machine you are comfortable on and learn that machine even if you are 15 and a 120 pounds, just because he hasn't rode before doesn't mean he has to use all the power and the ds is pretty smooth power for a performance quad. plus being 15 it isn't like he can run down to yamaha and say hey i'll take two. maybe he can get a used ds for about 4000 and that is all he can afford, well just my thoughts on it my 10 yr old rides the honda 400 and controls it really well, and he is 84 pounds.

well we're just being cautious, cuz if he has obsolutly no experience he could get seriously hurt, but then again he may have no problem handling it, we're just tryin 2 do the best for him

Do people really get those big 4x4 quads stuck. What about reverse and winches? Honestly without knowing this young mans skill level and size he plans to be I'd recommend just about any other quad, mostly a honda 400ex. The DS is BIG and HEAVY, I love it but I am to. Lifting the back of a DS stuck in sand feels like your trying to move a small car.

Used raptors are the way to go. You can find them for well under $4k. Thrash it for 2 years, get your get-offs under the belt, then sell it and pick up the bike of the day.

My 105lb son has decent trouble unstucking the DS.
