Not too sure on how a alum frame would hold up to us DS owners. Most of us push the quad to the limits. But a Alum subframe would do the trick.

Most aluminum frames for quads end up being pretty, but to make them as strong as the stock one, they usually end up being just as heavy. Titanium or Chrome Moly frames are the way to go IMHO.

the alum. frame is made by LRD. bill ballance has been running one on his XC quad for the last season and doing awesome on it. Ti frames i don't trust at all. welding and Ti just don't mix, its extremley hard to do and even if you do it right the heat makes the Ti so brittle that i would never trust it for quad applications. i'll take aluminum over Ti for my quad frame any day.

The LRD frames are what I was talking about. I've seen them, picked them up, and talked to the folks that ride them - they say they do hold up, they just are not any better than stock.

the c-dale frames hold up real well, and most dirt bike frames are alum and they hold up fine. what about alum swing arms?

alum can be very strong if built right! they just need to be designed right and reinforced in the right spots. this com seem to know what there doing. I woulden't have had you guys bug them to build a ds frame if I thought they were. I sure don't want a junk frame even if it is lighter.

I was just thinking of the racers that wanted to save a couple of lb's this would be a good way, and they saided they would build them if there was enought interest.

I thought LRD had a recall on there aluminum frames? Last time I talked to TBR they were working on a chromoly frame. Maybe with enough interest TBR will do it!

OK, I wieghed my frame when I had my quad powder coated this winter, and it weighed in at about 75lbs, a 100lbs with subframe.

So how much weight are we talking about saving here???? I would say it better shedd 50lbs minimium if they want people to spend $$$$ .

Bigger.
