Quick Question
I recently bought an '04 Traxter Max XT and when I was out riding the other day the engine overheat light would come on from time to time. I have yet to see the fan come on. I've ridden with a passenger before and the light never came on but the day I was having the problem the passenger that was on there is only 5'1 or so, so her legs may have been blocking the vents. I was just wondering if anyone else has expierenced the same problem and if so what had to be done to fix it. Also, Ive put on 100 miles, why haven't I seen the fan come on yet?

Quick Question
if your motor overheated to the point of the warning light coming on, the fan should've been running well before then, providing the red light was not a false alarm from a bad sensor that activates it.
that being said, either the thermostatic fan switch is bad, the fan itself is bad, or perhaps just the fan fuse is blown.
Good luck, but don't ride with a warning.
