Can't figure it out?

Well I took apart the top end hoping that I would find the obvious head gasket leak. Well I couldn't find anything! The head looked like it was perfectly sealed. So now what the heck is causing my coolant bottle to fill so darn fast! And why do I have so much pressure in the system? For the life of me I can't figure this one out. Has anyone else had this problem? I take all the coolant out of the overflow and fill the radiator, by the time I have made about 5 passes the coolant bottle is above the full line and my temp gauge starts hovering around 200 degree's. I leave the fan on constantly also. Some how the system is getting pressureized and not releasing the pressure after letting it set. What else could be causing it? Any Ideas?

i stuggled with this for a long time. it was a head gasket leak in my case. everything else i could think of turned out to be OK.
if the head is off even 0.001" the head will leak. if you're pre-detonating due to poor fuel and/or too much ignition timing, that will cause excessive cylinder pressure.
i assume you have the TVI 720 with copper head gasket, O-ring, eight 10mm TVI studs?

I had a car that did that same thing once and it ended up being that the radiator cap was bad. It didn't hold pressure, and after itwould warm up the water would go out the overflow, but after it was shut off was when it was real bad. I think it was because the water was no longer being cooled and then get hot.

PUNISHER IT'S THE HEAD GASKET!! i am one my 3rd one sense going pami 760. the 3 layer head gasket and pliobond seal (rwr sells pliobond) seams to be the hot ticket. i got the gasket from pami but i think it's available in the states. after installing the gasket with the sealer let it set 24hrs and retorque head bolts and go. riding mine friday for the first time with the new gasket and will report if still leaks. samcoeds swears this is the fix!!!!!!!!!!!

MAn I hope so, I am sick and tired of this CRAP!!! I jsut couldn't find any traces of leakage at the head gasket this time though. And I highly doubt the head is cracked, I have never overheated it and aluminum doesn't crack very easily. We will just see what happens I quess. Thanks for your input guy's.

Tony, your only running 100 octane, i think you could be detonating and possibly re-touqued like i told ya...i had the same detonation prob...

This may seem really lame but another thing that will cause this symptom is a bad radiator cap that won't hold pressure. Here's one more stretch. If the oil seal in the water pump is bypassing it will force blowby past the coolant seal and pressurize the cooling system.
Not saying that your not on the right track, just throwing out some other remote possibilities.

I know about the cap already I have replaced it about 5 times already. The last one was a 22 lbs. cap and it let the fluid by just as fast. I also thought about the Oil seal but there would be some oil leaking past the seal and out the weep hole if that were the case and their isn't any. But to be on the safe side maybe I will order a new shaft and seals tommorow. How big a pain in the but is it to change that water pump shaft?
