need help with bog on low end!!

I guess I should have let the bike come down to a complete idle with the stock carb and then wick the throttle when I did those dyno runs. I let the rpm come down farther with the Lectron so it looks lower than stock when they are compared on the same dyno sheet. That being said, make no mistake about it.......The Lectron makes more power and torque from idle up, there is NO COMPARISON!

I looked at those dyno sheets again and they are a bit confusing when you cant see the color coding of the lines. You may be looking at the Lectron TQ curve as it crosses the stock HP curve. I'll send BF a sheet with HP only and another sheet with TQ only so the lines arent running over each other. The Lectron is at no time below the stock carb.

It seems that quadman 650 was right on the money. With taller gearing and low idle speed (1100rpms) I was getting a bog. I experimented with different idle speeds and I found out that on my machine, some may be different, that 1400 rpm idle speed got rid of the bog. I tried from 1150 to 1350 and the bog got progressively less apparent. I finally settled on 1400rpms for an idle. Now not only can I take off a lot better without massive wheelies, which was the purpose of the 17 tooth front sprocket, I feel more confident on hard starts. My mid range and top speed have also increased noticeably. The combo of sprocket and clutch springs have done what I wanted them to do. Thank you everybody for your help!! I will be purchasing one of those end cap mods, since everybody thinks they are so effective. PM me with phone numbers and addresess if you have them for sale.

He has some of the best info on everything to do with DS650's.
