Default Little Sahara last weekend

I and a few friends (yes, I do have some friends) went to LS this last weekend.

I wanted to let everyone know my opinion on the lectron 46HV carb. This was the second long weekend that the bike has been out and played for more then 6 hours a day. The carb was flawless on my trail bike!!! It never bogged from catching air, running through whoops, or anything else I could throw at it. The carb is a nice setup. I was useing the TM42 before this carb. Between the two carbs, I like the Lectron MUCH better. Easier thumb pull and power all the way through the power band. I did gain power from the carb switch, but, am not sure how much, I have not had it on a dyno yet. This bike has the sport cams and a slip on exhaust. It is not the fastest DS, but it does win a few races The bike is a great all around duner! I would recommend the carb to anyone.

On to my other bike. I ran it down the track 3 times. I only ran it on motor and never shot the NOS. It ran the best that it ever has!!!!! But like they say, it alsways runs its best before it blows..... I should have done a plug check before I ran the third pass. I leaned out and I think I burnt a hole in the piston. I will have the head off tonight and check it out. But the plugs look like they are brand new (pure white). We will see. I hope to have it back up and running real soon.

Sorry about the bad luck with your bike.

Have you ever had a 44 on the bike to compare it to the 46hv, or a good S.W.A.G.? Just curious of your opinon on the two.

What is the second bike? The first was a ds, but what was the other? No matter what it is, its hard to accept.

His trail bike is also a DS. It really is a great dune quad, and it does runn very well.

DuneDevil, thanks SO much for having an extra set of axle bearings, AND helping me put them in! If it wasn't for you , my Weekend would have been over before it started. Thanks again!!

Dune devil- sorry for the bad luck. Is that (46 carb) the one from Eric? and the one buttfungus has?? If so i have seen Butt's set-up and it was running VERY well and strong. Since you like to put the miles on things fix you big DS and come to texas sand drags in 2 weeks.

Ward660R, The only carbs that I have had on the trail bike are the stock, the 42TM, and now the 46HV. The 46HV is the best so far by a long shot! I have a 48 on my drag bike and like it. But we are compareing apples to orange's.

DStroyer, I have two DS's, One is set up for only drag raceing. The other is a very dependable dune machine.

biggerisbetter, I am glad I could help out. If anyone gets the chance to meet up with Bigger and his wife, do it, they are GOOD PEOPLE I really enjoy rideing with him and his family!

14mins, Yes, it is the carb that Eric sells. Eric and his cousin , Randall, have really done the R&D on this carb! it is set up almost perfect! It is a nice carb.

I will try and get down there to the dragstrip in two weeks. I need to get everything ordered and here before I can say yes I will be there.

Mark, can you keep these forums clean? This is a family site

ScoobyDFW, I had taken the air/fuel ratio meter off of the bike when I upgraded the cams and put the tach on there. I wish I would have kept the meter on there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BigWaynester, All that I hope is that it runs as well as it did before it blew up!!! It had never ran that good before, and this was just motor!!!! I ran it the weekend before, and it was not running right then. It is amazing how much difference there was in one weeks time.
