Does a stock bike need a different carb. Has anyone dynoed any of these carbs against a properly jetted stock carb?

Buttfungus, everybody throws out dyno results but never mentions how much time was spent dailing in the stock carb, or if it was completely stock.

I wouldn't say the straight bore has weak bottom end. I dynoed a 48mm Lectron that made very good low end torque. The HV series just hits a little harder.

mystereid the Lectron comes tuned & ported intake (from the right place) I beleive & with a modded end cap thats what you see on the dyno!

I provided BF with those dyno sheets. I do alot of drag racing in stock class where you have to run a stock carb. I have aproximately 75 dyno pulls on my stock carb, I guarantee it was tuned to within one tenth of a horsepower. This is why the Lectron impressed me so much because it blew away my stock carb that I have tuned on for so long.

I don't believe I'm explaining this too well. Dyno results on the mikuni 42 and 45, the Edelbrock and the Lectron all seem to give a max of about 2HP over a stock carb. I ported my intake, ported the rubber boot and use the dynojet kit. All these seemed to improve throttle response and it runs harder. Should I spend anywhere from $300 to $600 on a carb to possibly gain nothing?

51.7 - 43.1 = 8.6HP. The stock carb is a good all around unit I used mine for 3 years. If you like how it runs I would leave it alone.
