ds650 questions

I was just reading about the 650 on a website and it said it has something like 87 HP and 84 LBS of torque and is capable of 110 mph stock.. and will easyly beat a banshee or a raptor... is this true or was he exagerating a bit??/

yeah the quad actually puts out around 40hp and does about 80. I dont know where you read that but that bike probably had a viper V10 replacing the Rotax 650

I am trying to find it but I cant... dont worry I will. he said he dynoed it and the raptor and the raptor only put out like 40 and the baja put out 80 some..... but all that said stock for stock how do they do against the competition like the raptors and banshees... I am 6'3 240 pounds and I just feel to big for those smaller quads but I feel very comfortable on the ds... is there alot of preformance difference between the regular 650 and the baja??

other than better tires, a tach, a higher rev limiter and some fog lights, not much. Eitehr way they are awsome machines but my only gripe is the aftermarket for them. The same part for a raptor is usually less since they sell more.

Actually, it wouldn't really be to hard to get past 100+ mph on the DS. Change the gearing, maybe the tires, and throw on some exhaust and you'll be right there. I remember reading that they ran the DS at 106mph in one of the Baja races.......
